It’s true, this little girl has an unhealthy obsession with clothes at the ripe ol’ age of 21 months. For some unknown reason, we child proofed all but the bottom drawer of her dresser. That’s all it took. I came upstairs the other day to find her scouring that drawer, pulling every single skirt and short out, trying it on, layering it on, yanking it off and tossing it aside. At one time, I’m pretty certain she had on 8 different layers including a few pairs of shorts, pajamas, a skirt or two, a swimsuit cover up and of course, what outfit can be complete without a wide brimmed hat!! She destroyed a perfectly folded drawer of clothes over the course of oh… 30 seconds! I couldn’t help but encourage her rampage, after I scurried to get my camera to capture her carnage. This pretty much sums up our entertainment around here lately. This is my life as the mother of a *high spirited* toddler. Long gone are the days of stressing over a messy house, following closely behind little feet to pick up, put away and erase the evidence of her curious explorations.
And once the fashion show had died down, it was on to *scaling* bigger projects and objects… like her crib. So far she’s only managed to get into the crib from the rocking chair. I don’t suppose breaking out of the crib is too far around the corner. Oh, and yes, that is her chucking her shorts at me from behind the confines of her self imposed prison once she realized she was stuck. Good times.
