Isn’t nature breathtaking? This summer I’ve been so drawn to color in nature. It’s everywhere. Flowers seem to beckon me with their delicate beauty and I’m forced to turn the camera to them. Supposedly, there are colors in heaven that the human eye has yet to see. The idea of that is staggering. A mass of endless color is all around us here on Earth. Not that I’d belittle God’s awesome powers, but my little mind cannot fathom a range of colors more spectacular than those found in nature here on Earth. These flower images were taken while Juliet and I were out and about tonight scoping a location for an upcoming shoot. She frolicked about, as I followed close behind, snapping away at her. Feisty, this one! She certainly gives me a run for my money trying to capture her pure sweetness that is often times shrouded in a veil of incorrigible toddlerhood. But, alas, there are a handful of fateful moments that somehow are seized… frozen in time, never to be duplicated. For this, I am eternally grateful.
Case in point….. This is her. Totally HER. Futile attempts at dolling her up with barrettes and pig tails lead directly to exhibit A…. flat, lifeless, suctioned hair with bangs that are constantly covering her deep chestnut eyes. Hair in eyeballs or not, I’m a sucker for this delightful little face.

Successful play requires much determination and fortitude, as seen here in exhibit B….

Proof that all is not lost… a real portrait of Julsie, complete with proper hand placing photo etiquette. Exhibit C…

And there are no words for this one…

This is what happens when you’re holding an 8+ pound camera in one hand, a toddler in your lap and simply snap away. Perfectly imperfect.![]()

And finally, more beauty and wonder captured today on our mommy-daughter scouting excursion.
