This is what was happening to my living room as I attempted to sleep in this morning. Our bedroom is directly below the living room, so we hear *everything* that goes on upstairs. No amount of ear plugs could stifle the romping and stomping and couch diving that was taking place above me. I knew the scene would be grim this morning, so I decided to check my email before heading up. While doing so, Aiden was busy at work cutting a piece of cardboard into 57,298,203 little pieces all over the floor (and cushions).
Juliet on the other hand… well… take a look.
She beckoned me from atop the kitchen stove with, “MOMMY!…naughty baby… NAUGH-TY BABY!!” (a term she uses quite often to describe herself) Without an ounce of shame or apprehension, she announced to me at the top of her lungs that I’d better hurry up and see what shenanigans she had gotten herself into.
Purse. Lotion. Gum. Butt naked. Proud.
This is her mode of operation. Just a few of her favorite things. Slimy lubricants and gum. Her obsessions. My frustrations.
The day that we were getting ready to leave for Thermopolis two weeks ago, I went into the bathroom to find that she had climbed on top of the counter, confiscated the jar of Vaseline from the very top of the medicine cabinet and had proceeded to smear it over every imaginable surface in the bathroom. Let’s all pause in silence for a moment as we attempt to grasp the gravity of that. There was Vaseline on the mirrors, counter, toilet paper, tub, clock, inside the toilet lid, under the toilet seat, throughout the medicine cabinet and ALL over Juliet. Let’s just say her hair has *never* been so deeply conditioned. It literally took a dozen washings to begin to get the grease out. Ah, just what I needed the morning of a big trip. This lotion fetish is nothing new. It has been going on for months. The question is, when will it end?
