The Christmas season has officially begun for my family of four. We headed to the mountains yesterday to chop down our tree. Unfortunately, we forgot the sled to pull Juliet along as we treked through the forest in search of the perfect tree. Carrying her and a sawsall was not an easy combination. Neither was carrying a $4000 camera set up and a sawsall. Not to mention, I am horribly out of shape and simply carrying my own weight up the hill was grueling. We managed however, and happened upon a lovely little tree.




He slid down this rock over and over again like it was a ginormous snowy mountain.

This was the ultimate best part of the tree scouting adventure!!

Albeit, sparse, our Charlie Brown tree is homey and quaint and fits our eclectic decorations just right. We’ve been purchasing the kids their own ornaments each year, selecting something that reflects their personalities or current interests. This year, Aiden received a big “A” – not only for his name, but because this is a year of really learning his letters, spelling and writing. It represents his intellectual growth. Juliet got a sweet terrier doggie with a pink boa, as she is SO in love with puppies and the color pink. I often call her puppy as one of her *many* pet names.
