Some of you might remember a little thing I started a while back called the Photo Exchange. It was a fun experiment where 2 photographers would exchange their unedited SOOC (straight out of camera) images with one another and edit the other’s photo. It was a way to connect disparate photographers from around the globe, as well as a way for them to see a unique editing perspective on their photos. Life happened, work got crazy busy and I didn’t have the time to maintain the Photo Exchange anymore. I was recently contacted by Brittany Stucki of Framed Photography, wanting to continue on with the Photo Exchange on her blog. I told her to run with it.
So, if you’ve been itching to get in on the Exchange, please contact Brittany with your information. She has a post HERE that explains how it works and what you need to do to enter.
I suppose it’s only fitting that Brittany and I would kick off the rebirth of the Photo Exchange together, swapping photos with one another. Here’s what we came up with.
First up, the image I shot, followed by Brittany’s edit.

Brittany of Framed Photography’s image she shot, followed by Michelle Kane Photography’s edit.

I can’t speak for Framed Photography on how she edited my image, but the image I edited above was processed with my HeARTy Photoshop Actions…. lots of them. I used quite a few tones and a combo of pretty much all the actions in the RICH section of the Creative HeART set. This edit was really just a matter of implementing a lot of layer masking to add in effects just where needed. Rich on the truck, but not too rich on the grass. Warmth in the air, but not on the left of the truck, etc. Masks make all the difference. (BTW, a fabulous discount is going on thru Sunday 9-25-11 for $40 off the bundled set. Use Promo Code QUICK40 at checkout.)
Hope you’ll continue to enjoy the Photo Exchange over at Framed Photography. Thank you Brittany for charging forward with my concept. I’m glad the Photo Exchange is no longer stagnant.
