Do you love that soft matte haze on photos, but don’t know the editing process to achieve it? The calm and dreamy look of the matte haze edit is very popular among photographers right now. I personally like this effect over both colorfully rich and lighter pastel type images. It seems to work with almost any look or base edit. Here, Karena Dixon Photography shows us how she used a combination of the HeARTy Action Bundle (Creative and HeART & Soul sets) to create a hazy, matte, and slightly sweet-toned look. The first 4 steps in her blueprint achieved what I call a “base edit“. These actions boosted, added contrast, amped up the richness, and sharpened. From there, she continued to “tone” the image with color tones that have a hazy effect to them (steps 5-11). As you can see, it’s a combination of such toning actions that achieve a custom look. I recommend experimenting with actions from the Delicate and Tones sections of the Creative HeART Collection and the Hazes section of the HeART & Soul Collection to find combinations that really work for you and your style.
If you love this delicate, romantic, and hazy look to your photos, consider checking out the Botanical Blends Collection. This action collection is dedicated to these very types of edits.
