Read what a few clients had to say about Michelle Kane’s photography Photoshop, Lightroom and photo editing mentoring:
“Wow, Michelle absolutely rocks Photoshop and Lightroom!! Since the minute I came across her website I was in awe of how she achieved such beautiful lighting and depth in her images…and when I found out she was willing to share and offered online mentoring, I jumped on the opportunity! And it was SO worth it. She really helped me boost my photography to the next level when I felt a bit plateaued with my current workflow. Even small tweaks she taught made HUGE differences in the overall look and feel of my images. Michelle is so patient and encouraging and just a blast to work with! My online mentoring session with Michelle was everything I hoped for, and when I’m ready to learn more, I know exactly who I will be calling!” –Brittany Preston, Momentology Photography

Michelle, I just wanted to drop you a quick note and thank you for the mentoring sessions we’ve had together. I can’t tell you how much I appreciated everything you shared with me to help take my editing to another level. You were so patient with me and took the time to carefully explain each step so I understood not only how to do things but why and when to use them properly. It can be overwhelming with so many different styles and ways to edit but you gave me a workflow suited just for me and my style. Let alone that you are so easy and fun to work with! I will definitely be contacting you again when I’m ready for more!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! — Alisha Shaw, One Memory at a Time

“All I need to say is that Michelle freakin rocked my world! I thought I knew a few things about editing photographs but after my 1 on 1 mentoring time with Michelle, I quickly realized that there is more to editing than just running a generic action on a photo. She walked me through step by step teaching me how to actually use the tools in photoshop to achieve my final product. The things I learned from Michelle are invaluable. I am a hands on learner, so it was nice to get to see Michelle in action. She was so knowledgable and ready to answer any questions that I had. She is a fabulous teacher and soooo down to earth. Thank you Michelle for sharing your knowledge with me. I truly appreciate it. ” – Tj Aneca, Aneca Photography

“I’ve been enamored by Michelle Kane’s work since the minute I stumbled across her website. It was clear from the beginning that Michelle wasn’t just a great photographer but had amazing editing skills as well. While I didn’t want my final editing to look just like hers I had no doubt that she could teach me what I needed to know in order to achieve the look I wanted for myself. Though I was proud of what I had taught myself and accomplished on my own I asked Michelle if she would mentor me and thus help me push over the proverbial wall I knew I had hit in Photoshop. Just a few hours with Michelle and I feel like I have been introduced to a whole new world of possibilities. In addition to showing me a few basics to make my photos really “pop!” she also gave me the knowledge and the skills to fix photos I had taken that weren’t properly exposed. Sometimes when I’m chasing a toddler or the light is tricky I’ll take a great photo that isn’t perfectly exposed. I always knew there was a way to “fix it” I just didn’t know how. She taught me how to fix my pictures by showing me where to start, what to look for and how to use all those amazing actions in small doses to achieve a desired (and amazing) effect. The few hours I spent with Michelle were completely eye opening and I edit my photos with so much more confidence now. (plus my clients have a much more even skin tone.) I can say with great confidence that a few hours spent with Michelle saved me countless wasted (and precious) hours of research and trial and error. : )
On top of all of this I really enjoyed my time with Michelle. A lot. She’s a fantastic teacher. She was great at accessing where I was at in order to build on the skills I already had. She’s patient and fun and very easy to talk and relate to. We found ourselves telling stories, laughing and sharing advice for working with kids, and even raising them. When she left I not only had a ton of new knowledge but felt rejuvenated and inspired to dive back into my art and my business in order to keep reaching for those dusty goals I had once set. Hands down one of the best investments I’ve made in my business.” — Jaymee Foster, Jaymee Foster Photography

“Michelle’s Photoshop/Lightroom skills are phenomenal. She knows everything! My online mentoring session with Michelle was the one of the best things I’ve done for my photography business thus far. She has helped me to really understand how Photoshop works without using actions all the time. Now I feel like I can do anything with what I’ve learned from Michelle. Although I’ve learned so much, I will continue to mentor through Michelle, as she has so much knowledge to share and is WILLING to share it. She will tell you everything and how to exactly do it – no secrets kept. That is what I love the most about her mentoring, she is just so dang good, but loves to teach what she knows so you can become better too. As a person, Michelle is so easy to talk and connect with. If you are thinking of mentoring with Michelle Kane Photography- do it! You will not regret it. Trust me! ” – Allison Cahoon, UrbanAlli Photography

“I finally found a class that I can actually say that I left with a whole new understanding of photography/editing. Michelle Kane is a very upfront, no secrets, super knowledgble instructor. But she is more than just a instructor, she is a mentor….her mentoring class is the first time that I felt that I had actually received tips, tools and a go-to person that is willing to assisst, no matter your skill level. Her mentoring is well worth your time and money…she is a true talent and compared to most of the other instructor/mentor classes that I have attended, I found her mentoring to be priceless.” — John Michael Laney, Images by John Michael

“My experience with Michelle Kane was an amazing one! She is truly passionate about every aspect of photography. The classes were not only informative, but very inspiring. She has a wonderful way of explaining post processing for every skill level. Over the past 5 years, I have taken several Kelby training classes, and compared to those, I feel Michelle’s mentoring classes far supercedes them in quality and quantity! It is important to me to keep my photos as “natural” as possible. Michelle’s class taught me to enhance my photos ~ without the use of actions ~ to create a beautifully, subtle photo. Michelle is also a wonderfully personable and patient! By the end of our classes, I felt like we had known each other for years! I highly recommend Michelle Kane’s mentoring classes ~ she’s fantastic! ” – Lauren Guinn, Lauren Guinn Photography

“When I first heard about Michelle Kane’s Wine Country Workshop, I knew I had to attend. I had been operating my own little photography business for about 9 months and was looking for something to take it to the next level. I was not disappointed. Michelle’s preparation was timely and organized. We knew ahead of time exactly what to expect and how to prepare.
The day we spent shooting in historic Healdsburg and then later in the evening at White Oak Winery was fabulous. The models were stylish and beautiful and numerous. We broke into smaller groups and I learned much from the other photographers as well as Michelle Kane. She was willing to talk one on one with me on subjects such as lighting, metering, composure, and anything else I had questions about. She is a patient and thorough teacher. I got hundreds of gorgeous captures that day that will be perfect for my portfolio.
The second day of the workshop was spent editing. Michelle held nothing back. She shared her techniques and showed us how to take our editing up a notch. The Editing Workbook and Manual that she provided us has been my constant companion since then. I refer the step-by-step instructions often. I have noticed a remarkable difference in my editing since the workshop. I can’t thank Michelle enough for all the time and effort she spent putting this workshop together. I highly recommend this workshop to all photographers. Novice and experienced alike, Michelle has something to share with you!” – Amy Earle, Simply b Photos
