connecting photographers ::: sheridan, wyoming photographer

Just fooling around tonight with some new Photoshop plays. Life has been so busy lately that I haven’t had time to just sit and experiment with my processing. Breaking out of predictable molds and letting new concepts unfold always make me happy. Plus, in the process, I learned two new Photoshop shortcuts and tricks that are so cool and time saving and probably things I should have already known. There are a few plans up my sleeve for some winter projects that include Photoshop actions and a texture set that I’ve been working on for a while now. There’s a lot of decent textures out there, but most are too low resolution for high res images. More on that at a later date.

You may remember back to the photo exchange that Andrea and I did a month or so ago. I’ve been thinking about this for a while and I think it would be a fun addition to the blog as a reoccurring weekly or biweekly installment. Just putting feelers out there to see if there’s any  interest in participating. If there are enough photographers interested, I’m considering being a facilitator of sorts to create the exchange, connect photographers and help promote a supportive network in our online photographic community. It’s quite interesting to see how someone else envisions and manipulates your photo. Plus, there’s a lot to learn from one another through a process like this. Photographers who normally take a highly manipulated approach to editing might find it refreshing to see how another photographer with a clean, simple style would approach their image and vice versa. So let me know your thoughts. Drop me a comment if you are interested or have any suggestions on how the process should run.

The next few days will be prep days for a weekend jam packed with sessions. The ever elusive sunshine should be returning, yet it’s looking as though this unexpected autumn snowstorm we had  might have robbed us of our vibrant foliage we had been so looking forward to. It appears that the snow has pretty much drenched the leaves, causing them to go from beautiful greens and yellows to slimy, decaying brown piles of yuck on the ground. I’ll be crossing my fingers in hopes of finding any patches of colorful beauty left to photograph.

I would be interested in something like this! Also, Do any of the local photogaphers get together once in a while? I live in Gillette, but come to Sheridan often as my family lives there.

The group and exchange sound really fun! I’d be interested in it. Good luck this weekend! :)

I’m in lets see if I have some time though but would love to know all about it.

Ooh I’d love to participate :) :)

excited to see what you got up your sleeve! you have my interest on your actions and textures!!
this image is fantastic!!!

Sounds like fun. I’d love to give the group a try. As for the fall foilage…I’m with ya. Ugh. Mucky ucky leaves. JUST the reason I packed my October calendar. BLECH!

I’m not sure how much I could add but I would love to give it a shot, I think it could be tons of fun to play with someone elses work. : )

The picture is brilliant! The idea of a picture swap is way cool, I’m in for sure. It was fun to take on the challenge of tweaking something other than your own work. I am crossing my fingers that your weather is sunny and there are still some nice leaves as a back drop!

love the processing, cant wait to see more!

That picture is RAD! Love the processing. Love the little man, he is sooo cute! And I am sure I will speak for everyone when I say “BRING IT ON!” This is a fabulous idea Michelle. Great job!

I've been incredibly blessed to work with so many remarkable people; capturing moments in their lives and creating memories for a lifetime. Curious what a session with me is like? Read what past clients had to say about their experience.
