I’ve been feeling buried lately. Buried in shooting, editing, design and correspondence, bookwork, housework, potty training, mothering. It’s just one of those times when everything seems to come at you all at once. All I can say is that I am looking forward to this time next week when we will be on our way to Denver/Ft. Collins for an entire week of Thanksgiving festivities with my husband’s family at the Broncos game and my brother. Can’t wait!!
Thank you to everyone for the enormous response to my feature at Simply Canvas. I wholeheartedly appreciate all the kind comments and emails. I made some really fabulous new contacts that I’m super excited about. I was also inundated with emails about the mentoring program and YES, it is still a go. I have over 30 people on the roster and will be getting it underway during these slower winter months. I’ll be posting more about that very soon. Please keep checking the blog for further info about the online class and possibly even a Q & A.
I have a few more sessions left to post before our trip, but felt like throwing my family a bone by posting a few of the kids. These were taken a couple of days ago, before the snow hit and the temperatures dipped into the 40s. Winter hasn’t even officially arrived and I’m already pining for spring. For this color loving girl, the dull browns of an early fall are less than inspiring. Guess that’s where bright pink heart shirts come in!
My mini-me… photographer in training….

Aiden has always loved to doodle. We have a gigantic, classroom sized white board that used to reside in the playroom and offered hours (well, maybe not hours… but minutes) of quiet fun for Aiden and I. See, I have an affinity for doodling too, especially on white boards. He learned his alphabet on that board, as I’d make up games for him to play that always involved learning. I picked him up a new white board the other day and a pack of fresh Expo markers. He’s been drawing all sorts of creatures, martians and houses, but this day, it was stick figure goodness of him and I. He’s all about writing words and numbers and even a few sentences here and there. Kindergarten has stirred in him quite the interest in spelling and adding. I’m so thankful for this, as I was a lover of school and learning. I can remember taking an old window pane, putting white freezer wrap behind it and writing with Visa Vis markers on it…. practicing my math and handwriting. The apple doesn’t fall too far I suppose with both my kids. —- Oh, and this little cutie lost his first tooth this past week. The tooth fairy snuck in during the night and left him cold hard cash in a personalized chinese takeout box. That tooth fairy keeps very late hours. ![]()

And two more from Lea’s session that I loved.
