it’s beginning to look a lot like christmas ::: wyoming photography

The Christmas season has officially begun for my family of four. We headed to the mountains yesterday to chop down our tree. Unfortunately, we forgot the sled to pull Juliet along as we treked through the forest in search of the perfect tree. Carrying her and a sawsall was not an easy combination. Neither was carrying a $4000 camera set up and a sawsall. Not to mention, I am horribly out of shape and simply carrying my own weight up the hill was grueling. We managed however, and happened upon a lovely little tree.

rockin'-and-rollin'

Albeit, sparse, our Charlie Brown tree is homey and quaint and fits our eclectic decorations just right. We’ve been purchasing the kids their own ornaments each year, selecting something that reflects their personalities or current interests. This year, Aiden received a big “A” – not only for his name, but because this is a year of really learning his letters, spelling and writing. It represents his intellectual growth. Juliet got a sweet terrier doggie with a pink boa, as she is SO in love with puppies and the color pink. I often call her puppy as one of her *many* pet names.

I love, love your christmas pictures!!! perfect tree too!!! :) beautiful! hope you have a wonderfu christmas :)

this is so sweet and heartwarming :) your tree reminds me of the ‘skinny’ trees we would put up for Christmas back home in Romania, before I moved to the States :) some of my best memories from my childhood and the teenage years are from around the Christmas time :) Have a Merry Christmas! :)

What a great time!! I just love all the photos of your tree and the adventure you went through to find it! Great family memories:)

omg! that bokeh from the tree is amazing! I’ll have to give it a shot myself. I can so relate to the hauling of the $4000 worth of equipment, it’s nerve racking and totally stressful, yet totally necessary! love love love the video, will have to remember that in the future. : )

Oh my goodness… That looks like SO much fun! I need to do that one year with my family.
I hope you and your family have the merriest Christmas!

What a fantastic series!! I want to roll in the snow like that!

I love these photos! Your tree is beautiful. What a special day! Makes me realize what a wonderful little family I am so blessed to have. You have captured the true meaning of Christmas!!!Very special!

Julie

I just think you are the bravest for enduring the weather with two little kids. We tried it a couple times in WY and it really was a nightmare for us, not just the finding trip but the whole Christmas season…oldest is allergic to something on the tree, I’m guessing mold, but who knows. Took us two stuff, sneezy, sick Christmases to figure it out. There’s nothing like the smell of a real tree though, I miss that. I’m glad you enjoyed the snow, especially Aiden. It looks like he had a blast.

Love the video–great photos! Your house is full of Christmas cheer… I better get crackin’at my house.

Sounds like a great time and your tree is beautiful!

Totally reminded me of Christmas Vacation when he forgot the saw. Too fun. And selfishly….I’m glad you carried the heavy camera crap up the hills. I loved the pix.

Sounds like a fun family outing! Your kids will really treasure those moments. I love this time of year!!!

omg – that is so cool!!!! Love how these photos captured it all – so awesome!!

That’s awesome that you guys went out and cut down your own tree. And it looks perfect. I also love the ornaments for your kids. Cute idea!

Beautiful family photos!

I <3 the bokeh on that tree pic.

Aww- how I adore bokeh!! Just beautiful! The last is my fav!

I love the footage of him rolling down the hill. Sometimes I wished I was still a kid so I could do that. My stomach can’t handle it anymore.

You guys definitely got WAY more snow than we did. I love the tumbling animation, and the last photo! You should make a bokeh filter, and have SHAPED bokeh! :O (That’s what I would do if I had a Christmas tree with lights on it…)

Looks like so much fun!!! :)
One of these years, Brad & I are going to get a real tree.
Great shots, love the series rollin’ down the hill. :)

Marika
