It’s been over a year since I’ve photographed these silly little boys. Last week we met at an incredibly gorgeous, tree lined location in the country for their family photos. Having driven by this prime spot, I thought to myself how awesome it would be to do a session there. Low and behold, it was the property of one of their family members. Score! We met for a night of bouncy balls, lollipops, lime drinks and lots of giggles. Here are a few of my favorites from the session. Enjoy these cutie-patoots!

Check out this little beauty! I’m not sure what’s in the air, but I’ve had a slew of 8-month-olds lately. Baby Maryn is the 3rd 8-month-old this month to grace my camera. Isn’t she beyond precious? Scroll down and look at her gorgeous parents and it’s easy to see where this angel gets her stunning baby blues and adorableness! OK, it’s another post… biggie sized! Talk about a fun session to edit. There are those photo sessions that just work in every sense. This was one of those. This particular family, coupled with the warm weather and magical light this night was absolute perfection. I’ve not shot in this yummy of light in a long time. There is definitely a legitimate reason why we photographers try to schedule sessions right before the sun goes down.

This is the second year photographing this family. Last year it was just the older kids. This year they traveled again, all the way from Wisconsin with a new baby brother, who was just about the sweetest, easiest little guy to photograph. He was definitely on the move, showing off his mad crawling skills and full of heartwarming baby grins and bright eyes that would melt your heart in an instant. His older brother was quite the firecracker last year, giving me a run for my money and it’s nice to know that some things never change. = ) Handsome as all get-out, it matters not if he was giving me goofball looks or pouting, he is a bonafide heartbreaker and rocks the shot either way. Their beautiful sister, ever the natural model, just can’t take a bad photo I don’t think! She was so sweet and lovely. I know, I know, I’m waxing on sickening sweet about how amazing this family is, but man, it’s true. When I have clients like this… this easy going, good looking, trusting and kind, I just can’t help myself. Thank you Lacretia and Rick for coming out again and letting me hang with you guys for the night. Hope you love your photos.

God brings certain people into our lives in ways we never expect, for reasons we do not foresee, in His perfect timing. This is Melody. Over the course of this past year, she has become my closest friend and confidant. We met last year when she called me out of the blue from California as a fellow photographer to talk pre-school photos. She called again months later to ask if I’d come out to California to collaborate on a photography workshop. For the past several months, we’ve spoken almost daily…. multiple times a day (and many late nights). You know when you meet someone and you just *click*? They just get you and you get them? That’s us. We are complete opposites in many ways… I’m a planner and highly analytical. She flies by the seat of her pants, goes with the flow and is self-admitedly a bit scattered. Together, we balance each other out. When I’m worrying too much or doubting myself, she swoops in to put things into perspective and boost me up. She is kind, generous to a fault, beyond loving, ultra caring, selfless, loves whole-heartedly, uplifting, a complete goof (which I adore), gorgeous inside and out and absolutely a blessing to me.

While out in CA this past week, we ventured out for a family session. While things didn’t exactly go as planned and we figured we’d chalk it up as a loss, I was delightfully surprised when I sat down to edit these images… and I couldn’t stop myself, hence this post that is bursting at the seams. Melody, I hope you know how much your friendship means to me. –How much I treasure the short time we’ve had in CA these past couple of months and all our crazy, often abrupt and receptionless calls. Love you. (…. and Conan, you’re not so bad yourself!)

These kids were the definitive bright spot on this ultra cloudy, dark day. Just the day before, I was checking out the light at this location for our 9 AM shoot and fretting over the ultra bright sun and deep pockets of shade. The very next day, I was fretting over stormy skies and lack of light. That’s spring weather in Wyoming for you.

Is this not the most girly, frilly pretty little dress for a sweet baby? Two cute for words! These precious babies were about the MOST easy going twosome under 1 that I have photographed. And big brother, well, he adores his baby sister, hugging and kissing and loving her to the ends of the earth.
