The photo exchange is ongoing, join in any time!
What is a photo exchange? How does it work? What’s the point? Here’s the skinny…
The goal of the photo exchange is to broaden our horizons as artist and network with others that we might not normally have the opportunity to chat with. Don’t stress if you are not a world-class photographer and your editing style is still developing. We all started somewhere and in reality, we are all continually developing and evolving as artists.
Want to join the exchange? Here’s what to do…
• Put together an image board with a handful of prospective images that you are wanting to exchange with another photographer. Sample image board seen below.
• Label each image with letters and put your name or studio name and location on the board as well. Keep the file somewhat manageable so it can be emailed easily (like 5-7 MB).
• Email the image boards to me. I will use these to match up photographers and the photographers will use them to select the image they want to edit.
• Once I’ve put you in contact with your exchange partner, you can let them know which image you selected and they can send you the file (SOOC), sized at 5-6 MB.
• You will edit the others photographer’s image, label them edited and sooc, email them back to the owner and to me as well and then post them on your blog, linking back to both the exchange photographer’s blog and to my blog. If you do not have a blog, no worries, they will always be seen here.
Just a couple of rules:
• If you have a blog, you must post the before and afters of both photographer’s images on your blog.
• You must properly credit the other photographer and are required to link to the other photographer’s site.
• You are not permitted to sell the other photographer’s edited image without prior written consent.
• Keep your SOOC and edited images to around 5-6 MB for easy emailing.
• You are not required to share your editing process. Feel free to discuss this with your exchange partner. Share as much or as little as you want.
That’s it! Fun, different, inspiring.
